Last week I blogged about our choice to have a destination wedding and our venue, HammerSky Vineyards. We took a less traditional approach in the fact that when we booked the venue 1) we had never seen it before and 2) we had never even been to the Central California wine country region before! However, knowing how much we loved the Napa area and the fact that my parents had vacationed in Paso Robles before and had the best time, we decided to just go for it.
We went out to Paso Robles in September and spent five days exploring the Central California coast and wine country, and within about a day we were trying to figure out how we could move there. Not only is it beautiful but it is incredibly peaceful with a relaxed attitude, how many would describe Napa Valley of the 1980's and 90's. In between vendor appointments we found time to explore the Wine Road {though we had to head home early thanks to a few too many stiff pours}, eat our way through Paso Roble's adorable downtown, and spend a day in the perfect coastal town of Cambria and driving the Pacific Coast Highway.
Some photos from our trip are below {I apologize for the quality as I took most on my iPhone} and I plan on putting together a Paso Robles travel guide in the coming weeks!
