Q&A

What inspired you to start Dreams in HD?
I started Dreams in HD in October of 2012 as a way to document my life-changing experience of traveling through Europe as a solo female traveler.  The name "Dreams in HD" was a simple choice -- I have always been a dreamer and strive to live life to the fullest, in high definition. After returning back to the States I realized that I had come to view my little blog as one of my main creative outlets and decided to continue writing about what I love: travel, fashion, interior design, art, and food.

I love the idea of traveling solo but it terrifies me. Do you have any advice?
My biggest word of advice is to go for it! For me, it was completely out of my comfort zone and to be honest I'm still a little surprised that I actually had the guts to do it - but it has been by far the most defining moment of my life thus far. I wrote a pretty comprehensive post with tips and tricks to ensure you have the most fulfilling experience while still saying safe, which you can read here.

What photography equipment do you use?
This is the question I get asked the most. I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark IV and typically use my Canon 50mm 1.2 lens. I have also fallen back in love with film photography and love playing around with various camera and films.

Where are some of your favorite places you have traveled?
I was bit by the travel bug about 8 years ago and since then have had the opportunity to do quite a bit of traveling. My absolute favorite place in the entire world is Paris. I have visited four times and know that no matter how many times I go it will never be enough! Some of my other favorite destinations are Charleston, New York, Napa Valley, Greece, London, Switzerland, Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, Vienna, Kauai, Thailand, Lake Como, and Amsterdam.

Can I work with you?
Absolutely! I specialize in fine art photography - specifically destination weddings, portraits, and lifestyle shoots and would love to collaborate with you on creative projects, from a styled shoot to capturing an intimate elopement in Paris.
