The beginning of November kicks off the official start of my holiday season.  While it may be a little early to listen to Christmas music {guilty!} it's most certainly not too soon to break out some holiday sparkle.  Because the next two months are filled with dinners, concerts, and parties I've pulled together some of my favorite little goodies I'd love to help me ring in this holiday season.  What about you?  Are you already overflowing with holiday spirit?  Or are you trying to savor the last days of autumn?  I'm somewhere in between the two :)

Ryan and I are talking about taking a big trip near the end of the year {more on that later}, so subsequently I am in hardcore saving mode. While I would always choose travel over material items {because I truly believe the mantra that "travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer"}, sometimes I feel the need for a little wardrobe refresh. So, I have pulled together a bunch of my favorite pieces all under $100 including this gorgeous marble-print dress that looks like it could easily cost 5x more than it is, this fun pouch that reminds me of our trip to Hawaii, and this Equipment top {a whopping 65% off}. Now I can save for our trip and pick up a few new goodies for spring!

I don't know about you, but our calendar is already packed full of weddings this year.  I find that spring weddings are my absolute favorite season in terms of fashion. I love the pastel color-palettes and the fact that the mild weather allows you a bit more styling freedom {it's hard to look put together when it's nearly 100 degrees outside}. So, when Bonobos contacted me and asked if I would be interested in styling one of their new suits for a spring wedding I jumped at the chance! {For those of you who don't know, Bonobos makes well-crafted menswear that focuses on a perfect fit. Their Straight Leg Washed Chinos are Ryan's absolutely favorite pair of pants in the world.}  

For the ladies I pulled together a look around a beautiful pearl gray sheath dress. The lace-overlay allows the colorful lining to delicately show through...pastel pink on top and lavender on bottom.  And for $158, it is a versatile piece that won't break the bank. Pair it with a retro topper coat, statement earrings, a quirky clutch, and a great gift for the newlyweds and you're good to go! For the gentlemen I designed the look around Bonobos' new suiting collection. I love the look of mix-and-match pieces, so I paired the classic cotton khaki jacket with a trendier chambray pant. As much as I love color, I have to admit there is something about pale neutrals that feel so breezy and effortless.  These pieces all have that easy elegance that will make you reach for them again and again on those days where you feel like you 'just don't have anything to wear.'  My favorite neutral is a light ballerina blush, and this polish and this dress hit it spot-on.  I'm totally lusting over this adorable scalloped bag {less than $40!}, and on the opposite end of the spectrum, this patent leather Gucci bag.  Happy shopping!

It's officially March which means 1) spring is less than a month away and 2) we are heading to the beach in just a few weeks!  My trip to North Carolina last weekend made it official...I am ready for warm weather, green grass, sunshine, and flowers.  I nearly went into cardiac arrest at the sight of a flowering tree - it has just been one of those kind of winters.  Although while I write this post there is a white blanket of snow covering everything outside my window, I can't help buy daydream about all things fragrant, colorful, and flowery.  From tiny feminine Liberty of London floral prints to dark dramatic florals reminiscent of Emily's gorgeous bathroom wallpaper to whimsical floral appliqués, there is something for everyone!

I have always, always, always loved color.  At one point a few years ago my preference towards all things bright was so extreme that I realized I actually did not own one single piece of neutral outerwear {but I did have coats in yellow, indigo, coral, pink...}.  Since that point I have grown to appreciate neutrals {especially in the winter} and have invested in black and tweed jackets, however I know that my eye will always be drawn to pieces of the sugary-sweet variety.  Because pastels are trending in a very serious way this year, I think it is the perfect opportunity to treat myself to a few more girly chic pieces {especially this clutch, this shirt, and this swimsuit}.  Because even when they are no longer "in vogue," pastels will always have a very special place in my heart.

Well hello there!  I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.  I don't know about you, but I always find that come January I am in a bit of a fashion rut.  The parties are over, the Christmas lights are down, and winter weather {Polar Vortex, I'm talking to you} makes it very tempting to throw on jeans and a sweatshirt {slash if you're like me and work from home, stay in your pajamas until 5PM}.  But thankfully January isn't all dark for me, as this weekend is Ryan's birthday.  We will be having a party at our house, which is about as good of an excuse to dress up as I can think of!

Since I'm just not quite ready to give up that holiday sparkle, I found a glittery tweed dress reminiscent of my favorite Milly dress {and a much better price}.  Add some emerald accents, leopard print, feminine perfume, and a beautiful bordeaux coat and lip and you're good to go!  Looking for more ideas?  Some of my other favorite party picks are below:

Warby Parker recently contacted me letting me know about their new Winter Collection, and I have to tell you that I am absolutely smitten with their 'Durand' eyeglasses.  I love the shape and think the pop of red against the tortoise is spot-on for the holiday season.  These glasses inspired me to create a cozy holiday look, perfect for a relaxing Christmas by the fire.  An adorable Skier Sweater is reminiscent of Christmas in snow country, Sorrel boots are necessary for an impromptu snow walk before dinner, a BaubleBar necklace adds just the right touch of sparkle, and the Russian classic "Anna Karenina" is the ideal book to curl up with under a furry blanket.  Cheers to a cozy holiday!

I absolutely love Thanksgiving.  I love that it is the official beginning of the Holiday Season.  I love being able to celebrate with family and friends and not have to worry about finding the *perfect* gift for everyone on my list.  I love the food {see recipe for the BEST Apple Pie, Ever here}.  But mostly, I love having a day that reminds us to remember how blessed we really are.  And this year I have a lot to be thankful for.

I like to be comfortable on Thanksgiving but also still look fun and festive.  I think this outfit with it's jewel tones, luxurious textures like cashmere and tweed, and sparkly extras is exactly what the doctor ordered.
