I absolutely love to cook. I find it to be such a fulfilling creative process and stress-reliever, plus the fact that Ryan always washes the dishes doesn't hurt :) As renters with a taste for old homes, I have settled on the fact that we probably won't have a high-end kitchen for quite some time. My last kitchen was teeny tiny {I literally had one single square of work space} and our current one isn't much bigger. I make do with what I have, but have to admit how much nicer it is to cook in my mom's gorgeous kitchen when I am at home. It doesn't hurt that she has every tool, appliance, and utensil I could ever want, but the actual space is so light and airy it literally lures you in to create a new experiment.
Until we one day own our own home and are able to renovate to our little hearts desires {I can't wait!} I will continue to collect kitchen eye candy on Pinterest. I have pulled some of my favorite kitchens and it is obvious a few key elements are prevalent...gold accents, statement lighting, a kitchen island that allows guests to linger while you cook, lots of natural light, open shelving, and killer appliances {La Cornue anyone?} I'm pretty sure if I had one of these beautiful spaces I would become the next Martha Stewart because I would never want to leave my kitchen!
What does your dream kitchen look like?
Oh my gaaad, what beautiful photos! Following YOU on Pinterest right now and possibly copying all of your interiors pins.. I'm the dishwasher in our house because I get home two hours later than my boyfriend :( unfair exchange I think!! Lucy xxx

Beautiful choices Molly. My personal preferences are light and airy with clean lines. I also like rustic touches to give it some charm and character. I love the kitchen you featured with the vintage refrigerator and the white washed floors with the farmhouse inspired table. That one definitely appeals to me!

ReplyDeletethe waterfall marble island is everything :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoying cooking from time to time, but having a tiny kitchen definitely puts a damper on things. My dream kitchen would have tons of space, lots of light, and open shelving!
ReplyDeleteThe 5th kitchen looks like my kind of kitchen. I have always loved the idea of having a banquette in the kitchen!

Having any of these gorgeous kitchens would be a dream come true, but no. 4 makes me melt. It's so airy and feminine. It has everything I want in a dream kitchen - white cabinets, open shelving, brass hardware, an old chandelier and a little bit of pink.
ReplyDeleteThat first and fourth kitchen are amazing! I would love to have a kitchen like one of these one day!

Black and gold would look amazing in a kitchen! Might clash with all my lucite/silver pieces though! :P

I am lusting over all of these! If I had a kitchen anything near these, I'd never cook. They'd have to stay spotless. I hope you get to have a fabulous kitchen of your own one day!

ReplyDeleteWow! What stunning kitchens. Love them all, but #3 and 6 really appeal to me. And speaking of cooking, made your Tuscan Style Marinated Chicken with Couscous from your Feb 20 blog last night. Delicious. Pete and I both loved it. Thanks, M....
ReplyDeleteLove the first picture... Really similar to Cupcake and Cashmere's new kitchen... Check it out if you haven't already!
ReplyDeleteI moved to London six weeks ago, so need to do some serious catching up! Will have to check out this place. I'll be opting for the creamy ones... Have got a crush on the White Russian style.

My dream kitchen has open shelving, white countertops, and an island with a gas cooktop that looks out into the living room. Oh and a DISHWASHER, haha. That'd be nice ;)
ReplyDeletethese are so glamorous. that gold stove! i think i love the one with the smeg the best, a little less glamorous but would be a huge upgrade from mine! and i just love the vintage/rustic feel of it.
ReplyDeletei love that one too, the wallpaper is such a great touch :) i totally agree with you about kitchens being where the magic happens...when i go home i'm pretty sure we all spend half the day in there just sitting and talking :)
ReplyDeletethanks so much lucy! and i totally agree with you, i'd much rather spend 5 hours cooking than one hour washing dishes :)
