Fashion :: Miroslava Duma

Inspired by yesterday's post about Russia, the first thing that came that came to my mind when thinking about Russian fashion was former Harpers Bazaar Editor and all-around It Girl Miroslava Duma.  I love how her style effortlessly fuses the feminine with the edgy and that she is not afraid of color.  She is known for statement coats, killer heels, and an undying love of all things Chanel {a girl after my own heart}.  My favorite look is the sequined Burberry skirt above, but you can easily replicate the look with a much more budget friendly version from Top Shop.  I pulled together some pieces {including some steals and some major splurges} to help you channel your inner Russian It-Girl.  More Mira inspiration below!

Travel :: Russia

Happy Monday friends!  I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.  I finally found time to read {"The Fault in Our Stars" and "The Interestings"}, went to the Indianapolis Winter Beer Fest, and may or may not have watched the Puppy Bowl instead of the Superbowl...don't judge :)

Perhaps it's because the Sochi Winter Olympics start this week, but today I have been daydreaming of a snow-covered trip to Russia.  I'd love to see Red Square, the beautiful Catherine's Palace, St. Basil's Cathedral, the ballet at Mikhailovsky Theater, wander through snow covered forests, and visit a tea house {or two}.  Don't these images make you feel like you could just close your eyes and step back in Tolstoy's 19th century Russia?  So beautiful...

My Life :: Snow Day

I hope you are all having a fantastic start to your weekend!  I am still just in awe of how. much. snow. we have gotten this year in Indianapolis.  Seriously, the Midwest is never hit with blizzards like these.  I absolutely love the snow, but will admit the negative 45 degree wind-chills are completely debilitating {our poor Yoda literally just falls over when he tries to walk outside, the snow feeling like daggers on his little paws}.  Thankfully I got a new camera and lens for Christmas {thanks Mom & Dad!} which has given me the incentive to bundle up and head outside for some peaceful walks in the snow.  Enjoy from the comfort of your warm blanket!
