Art :: Gray Malin Colors Your Dreams

Gray Malin does it again, this time with his fantastical "Dream" series.  The photographer explains, "Touched by a story I read about a Scottish sheep farmer, this series is born from the desire to inspire others to stand out from the crowd and foster a sense of individuality.  Traveling to rural Australia, I worked with a family of third generation farmers who professionally misted each sheep with a vegetable-based, rinse-able dye to give them a bright colored hue.  Through the transformation of these otherwise white creatures into a rainbow of color, I hope to spark an idea; that we are all individuals and should not be afraid to bare our true colors, dare to dream and shine for all to see.  20% of the proceeds from the series will benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation to help inspire those who dream their ultimate dreams."  So inspirational! 

Art :: Kylli Sparre's Dream World

On this moody, rainy day what better than to take a step into photographer Kylli Sparre's enchanting dream world?  As told by My Modern Met, "Photographer Kylli Sparre draws upon her background in dance to create elegant narratives that feel like scenes right out of a dream. The artist uses image manipulation to merge graceful figures with surreal backgrounds. The intriguing compositions are filled with a powerful energy that radiates with emotion.

Through her rich imagination, Sparre produces enchanting moments where feminine forms are the delicate central focus of the mind-bending scenes. Sparre has such a wide range of distinctly fantastic work that it's impossible to know what to expect next from the talented artist. Each composition will take viewers on a journey into a world of imagination.

"I never realized that I am inspired by dance until people started telling me that. So it is unconscious. Now I see that it influences the way I see the lines of a body and the movement [that] I am drawn to," says Sparre. 'It took me years to finally find what truly inspires me. The feeling I get, when a picture turns out the way I imagine… I get so much energy and I love to be alive!'"

Art :: Abstract Landscapes

It's hard to believe, but these abstract images are actually ariel shots of streams flowing down Icelandic volcanoes. Photographer Andre Ermolaev has truly captured some of the more stunning images of nature's beauty, alive with motion and color, that I have seen in quite some time. Ermolaev explains, "Iceland is a wonderful country; I would even say that it is a true paradise for all the photo shooting-lovers. But what has become a real discovery for me is the bird’s eye view of the rivers flowing along the black volcanic sand.  It is an inexpressible combination of colors, lines, and patterns. The photo represents the mouth of the river falling into the ocean.  A little bit upstream there is a yellow-colored brook flowing into the river, but yellow currents fail to mix with the main water flow.  One can estimate the scale judging by the car tracks that are clearly seen on the black sand. This is just a river, just a volcano, just our planet."  Mind-blowing!
