Sometimes we just need to get away, and what better than to be transported into one of Annie Leibovitz's visual fairy tales for Vogue? Whether it's Kirsten Dunst as the ill-fated French Queen Marie Antoinette, model Natalia Vodianova portraying 'Alice in Wonderland' alongside a slew of high fashion designers {Karl Lagerfeld and Tom Ford? Sign me up!}, or Andrew Garfield and a model that could easily be a young Grace Coddington channeling 'Hansel and Gretel,' her images are nothing short of magical. I hope you enjoy getting lost in the images as much as I do!

Annie is such an inspiration. We never studied her in college (we had more of a focus on documentary and news photography than fashion/art) but I've loved her work for so long. Remember the shoot she did of Chris Noth and Sarah Jessica Parker, of what could have been Big & Carrie's honeymoon in New York? It was grand. xo
ReplyDeletenatalia and kirsten are perfect!

i always loved that alice in wonderland shoot, but that photo with the lion is unreal. i'd be so terrified to get near a giant wild animal like that.
ReplyDeletegreat selection of leibovitz photos, though. she's a true legend in fashion photography, that's for sure.

These are such gorgeous photos! Annie Leibovitz never fails to inspire and awe with her extraordinary skills! Plus, I love all the costumes!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy reading vogue. There are always amazing pictures and articles. A relaxing way to spend a few hours for sure.
ReplyDeleteHer amazing images get me every time! But I must have missed the Alice in Wonderland shoot because this is my first time seeing those images!
ReplyDeleteThey are mesmerizing! I could stare at them for hours. I love the theatrics.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, how STUNNING! I love them all!
ReplyDeleteI have torn these pages from past Vogue issues so it is with sadness that I recently canceled my subscription after many years. Vogue is not what it use to be and their standards are non-existence. Grace Coddington is a genius though. Really miss models being on the cover too
ReplyDeletei know, the dress reminds me of a hot air balloon!
ReplyDeleteoh yes, how could i forget that one!
ReplyDeleteso romantic and glamourous...
i know, i just love how natalia manages to look exquisite yet totally innocent at the same time. she is such a chameleon!
ReplyDeletei know, it's like being transported to another world!

ReplyDeletethanks so much for the sweet comment amber :)
i know! that last black dress that kirsten dunst is wearing is my favorite...it's a work of art!
ReplyDeletetotally agree with you! i could spend a solid 24 hours just laying in bed with a cup of tea and an issue of vogue :)
ReplyDeleteisn't it amazing!? i'm so glad i was able to share it with you!
ReplyDeletei know! i can't even imagine how much time and effort goes into getting every single shot set-up. i remember reading about the alice & wonderland shoot in grace coddington's memoir...it sounded quite dramatic trying to get all the designers to agree :)
ReplyDeletei actually cancelled mine about a year ago as well barbara. for me, i was really tired of constantly reading about all the society girls. yes reading about them is a fun and glamorous to escape everyday life for a few minutes...but it was just too much about name dropping and not enough about fashion.
ReplyDeletei know, they are so magical!
ReplyDeleteNO words for her talent and work! Amazing!
