Travel :: Charleston, SC

My best friend and I have decided to take a little girls getaway in October.  We will be spending four days in Charleston, SC and other than having our hotel picked out, we have absolutely nothing planned.  So tell me, have you been to Charleston?  If so, do you have any recommendations for places to eat, shop, and see?  We will have a car so I'd love to get away for a few hours and see some beautiful old plantations, moss-draped oak trees, and of course eat tons of fresh seafood.  It's my first time visiting and I'm so excited to visit the city that I have heard nothing but good things about!

  1. LOVE Charleston!! I went there for my bachelorette party last October! We frequented the rooftop bar on top of the hotel pictured here (I'm pretty sure that's where it was). I know it sounds cheesy, but we went on a ghost tour and it was really fun! The weather will still be warm and you will have the best time!

  4. i absolutely love charleston! it's been too long since i've been there last so i can't say what i'd recommend, but i wouldn't worry about it too much. it's just so beautiful and lovely, i am sure you will be stumbling upon things the entire time. have fun! ps i agree with the ghost tour, we did that too and it was really fun for us as well. even the skeptics we dragged along enjoyed it.

  5. So jealous! Charleston is by far one of my favorite cities! I recommend wearing comfortable shoes and wearing light clothing! You'll want to do a lot of walking because back after block it's oozing with charm! But Oct is still warm down there so I would prepare myself for the southern heat! We always eat at Fleet Landing. It's on the waterfront so the views are nice and it has a laid back vibe with a pretty extensive seafood selection. I hope you take lots of photos for the blog :)
